Dix Mtn Hike

Darrin and I did a day hike in the adirondacks on Monday. We drove up to Schroon Lake on Sunday night and stayed in Darrin's parents Camper. We had a nice breakfast at a diner in the town and then drove in and hit the trail by 8 am. The Hike was nice for the first 3.5 hrs, but the last mile or so proved to be strenuous but very rewarding once we reached the summit. The views were outstanding. (see pictures) Darrin is on a push to join the 46 club (all 46 high peaks climbed) - he now has around 18 completed. At least I have one... :)

2 brothers in the 20'ss figured out all the peaks in the Adirondacks over like 3500 or 4000 ft and they documented all 46 of them. Thus the "46" club. Darrin has climbed 18 so far, but Dix Mtn was my first real "High Peak"

Thanks Andy for the note - many of the mountains I have climbed in the adirondacks (Buck, black, catamount etc) are NOT in the '46' (there are 46 in the high peaks area)
